Intro to Improv for Youths (ages 6-17)

Sunday, Jan 12, 2025 @ 7:00 PM EST • $15.00

Has your child ever wanted to try out improv, but you're not sure where to start? Our Intro to Improv workshop is a perfect way for them to begin their improv journey in a low-risk, supportive environment! This NINETY-MINUTE workshop will introduce them to the fundamentals of improv.

No experience is necessary (seriously, we mean it!)
This is a judgment-free zone where they'll learn the basics of improv comedy through fun games and exercises. Improv will:

  • Spark their creativity: They'll discover how to say "Yes, And!" to new ideas and build hilarious scenes together.
  • Boost their confidence: They'll step outside their comfort zone and tap into their inner wit in a supportive environment.
  • Sharpen their thinking: They'll learn to think on their feet and react to anything life throws their way.

This workshop is perfect for:

  • Kids who want to be funnier and/or more engaging in social situations
  • Kids who crave a creative outlet
  • Kids who want to meet new, like-minded, and interesting peers

This workshop is led by an experienced teacher at The Bit. It’s a great way to sample what and how we teach at The Bit, and it's a great introduction to the rest of our Youth Classes. Improvisers at ANY level are welcome to join. If you're wondering what to expect at a drop-in workshop, check out this article.

If you're interested in seeing an improv show prior to the class, check out our Family Comedy Show, which takes place right before the class!

This workshop is best experienced by students between the ages of 6 and 17. We encourage older improvisers to check out our adult Intro to Improv workshop or our Drop-In Improv Class!
